My last memory is of a the delectable fragrange of a loaf of freshly baked darkly brown bread. I haven't had this kind of bread in years. The combination of dark and wholesome makes me smile. This smile does not relate to my slightly refurbished hoodlum date. I run my fingers over the sharp crust, edgy,a bit flaky.The sweetly blackened crust surrounds and suppports the moistness of the this bread that I soon will taste. Before I gift myself with the experience of this bread; I reach to slice a triangle of the brown bread for my soon to be lover. I run my fingers down the edge of the sharp achingly cold knife. I feel the air currents collide violently, willing to slice my offering of desire. I see no reflection in the knife, though the silver surface is cleanly polished and clear.The sexy man of the streets, reaches strong coffin carving fingers possessively towards me. He seems to make a brief effort to combine possessiveness with gentle searching, he does not succeed - I am glad.My breasts arch towards our first garnet glass of a stags leap cabernet. His fingers are now exploring my rings quesioningly; I sense a barely held back possessiveness. His body langauge is far too controlling for a first assignation. I remind myself this is the kind of lover I want tonight, may he be damn good in bed. I offer my opening hand willing to play with the sensations his fingers evoke. My body responds as if this contact is a virgin massage, by a masseur who knows what he is doing, after a six months abstinence from massage. A masseur inspired as a lover without overtly crossing any particular lines of no return.It seems I will not be able to finish my offering of a slice of nourishing brown bread. Before I have finished carving the slice from the whole loaf, he, as slowly as a knowing masseur making sure every part of my body awakens. This stranger carefuly separates the sharp blade from my warm fingers.

A terrific storm is coming, I smell it.""Terrific means terrifying.""Does not.""Originally, it does.""When?""Before the 1800's.""Who cares?""I do. The origins of things interest me - words, storms, people, books.""I wrote a cookbook once.""What kind of cookbook?""Recipes""Alchemical?""No""I have to be outside in this storm. You and I have nothing to build on, no foundation,no origin, no roots."He fondles the knife through his kilt. Traces the sheath with his fingers, stands straighter. "Your not leaving.""I am.""I don't think so," he draws out each word as s l o w l y as he can.The wind fiercely rattles the wooden door. The storm enters above the door, below and on each side of the liminal space. The peat fire smokes more than it burns. He moves towards her. "Maybe terrific did originally mean terrifying." His fingers play with the knife. As he remembers the skean dbhu knife is recently sharpened, he takes up more space in the small croft. "Your perfume is strong, what is it?" He is far too close to her now. She catches the scent of blood, cold coffee and oatcakes, mixing with the peatsmoke.She begins to move backwards, stealthily, towards a less lethal storm. "Talisker""What?""Talisker is the perfume I'm wearing." "Do you like it?""Talisker is a whisky." He looks confused. She continues backing towards the door, very softly she says "I love the perfume of whisky. don't you?""I don't know.""Could I have a wee dram?" she makes her voice low and coaxing."If you stay.""I'll nae leave just yet." she takes one half step away from the windy wonder of a sultry storm.He backs towards the whisky, not taking his eyes off her.She knows he will have to turn to pour the whisky. She will have a second. Soothingly, almost hypnotically, her words weaving into the strength of the storm "perfume smells strongest just before a storm.""And whisky?""The same." she turns, quickly running into the ferociously fragrant freedom, of the finality of this storm. She runs freely, throwing her arms wide, gleeful in the clean cold tremblings of the sky. Her eyes water in relief, her lungs strong as they inhale deeper and deeper waves of clean, almost pure, air. She runs faster, wanting her body and clothes to be seriously soaked. She aims for the center of the Beauty of the Terrific- Terrible Storm. She laughs, as a thought rises, by the 1900's terrific meant severely good.

Within the puzzle, or Alchemical Mystery - there is the Alchemical Recipe of sustaining the tension of the opposites until something new emerges. The vehicle needs to be strong to tolerate the tension and the mystery's of letting go and letting something new emerge. Our mysterious heroine is in the liminal space of this transformation. What Intrigues Me about Mystery

Hello - Discovering this way of exploring the clues life offers to solve the Mystery of being. Do not know why hitting return key will not return cursor to beginning of line. I could be annoyed or could deem it another mystery. Recently find myself wanting to write one. We all live in the middle of one. The various types of mystery have as much to do with the temperament of the detective as the cards one is dealt at any particular phase of the moon. Found something on the web that indicated some rules. Are rules clues. First one is The Reader must have equal opportunity with the detective for solving the mystery. All clues must be stated and described. I left out the word plainly. Rules are by S..S. Van dine which is an ersatz prelude to another mystery. Even the name s.s. isn't that a mercurial secret mysterious code for some other msytery?. Van is for van Morrison and that leads to Jim Morrison and Jim Morrison seems to have had mercury in Capricorn which is really quite mysterious. Dine is the way we nourish ourselves on the Mysterium Magnum, the great Mystery. What fun. Kind and mysterious regards - a lark
